Product Questions
Q. I have an earlier version of Logo Design Studio Pro; is version 2 a free update?
A. No. Logo Design Studio Pro, version 2 includes hundreds of new logo templates, over 1500 new editable SVG graphic objects, and a number of new design tools, features and commercial use fonts. So, this is a paid upgrade. If you are a registered Macware customer who has requested to be informed of new products, product updates and special offers then you will receive periodic email offers with discounts to upgrade to the new version.
Q. I have a previous version of Logo Design Studio Pro installed. When I try and install the new version I don't see any new templates or objects. What do I do to fix this?
A. Make sure to remove the previous version from your Applications folder, and also remove the Logo Design Studio Pro folder from the following location:
Macintosh HD | Library | Application Support
And, remove the LogoDesignStudio Textures folder from the following location:
Macintosh HD | Users | Pictures
Once you have removed the application and other folders you can then install the new version.
Q. Can I trademark the logos I create in Logo Design Studio Pro?
A. Yes, you can. Just keep in mind that it is up to you to make sure your design does not copy any other trademarked design (for example, making a logo look like the Nike swoosh trademark would not be good).
Q. How do I change a template to my own look?
A. After you choose a template from the Templates browser, start by first clicking on the text (double or triple click your mouse on the text until it highlights the text). Once the text is highlighted, you can simply type in your own name to replace the template text; to adjust the size and font style, keep your text highlighted and then click the Fonts icon in the toolbar to open the Font manager tool.
If you would like to change the look of the logo object on the canvas, click the object to see the anchors appear around the object. You can then click on a corner anchor and drag the anchor to resize the object (hold down the Shift button on the keyboard to keep the aspect ratio of the object as you resize it).
You can also add a filter to the selected object by clicking the Effects icon in the Inspector toolbar. Click the Filters tab, check the "Apply All Filters" checkbox and then browse through the filters from the dropdown arrow. You can remove any filter at any time by simply unchecking the individual filter or the "Apply All Filters" checkbox.
Q. Where can I find the SVG (scalable vector graphics) versions of the objects on my Mac?
A. Simply select the Objects icon in the main toolbar to open a Media browser; the browser allows you to add any of the included SVG Objects or Raster Objects.
The SVG Objects and the Raster Objects that are included with Logo Design Studio Pro are located in (Macintosh HD) | Library | Application Support | Logo Design Studio Pro. The SVG Objects included in Logo Design Studio Pro 2 can be used in any other vector application (Adobe Illustrator, etc.).
Q. Why does Logo Design Studio Pro seem to freeze when I try and export a design that I used an artistic stroke in?
A. Depending on which stroke you selected and added to a shape, text or drawing, Logo Design Studio Pro 2 may seem to freeze if you then try and export your logo in SVG format. Be patient and let the application finish the export. A few of the artistic strokes were created with such intricate detail that it takes a little extra time for the application to save and export the file so it can be edited later in Logo Design Studio Pro 2 or any other vector editor. |
